John Aaron has been a project management professional since 1989. He is president and lead consultant for Milestone Planning & Research (MPR), Inc., a firm specializing in contract project management, project risk management software, project management training and apprenticeship as well as economic research. John has specialized in providing contract project management and PMO support for large-scale, technology-based projects including ERP-SAP, SAP Business Planning and Consolidations (BPC), as well as IT infrastructure projects. John's project management experience is well known in the SAP community. He provided contract project management services on the Tellabs, UOP, Honeywell, Litton Interconnect, Electromotive Diesels and Hart Schaffner Marx implementations. Prior to becoming a project management consultant, John was Dean and Director of DeVry University's master's degree program in project management. In earlier years John held the positions of Director of Marketing at Duncan Industries, Sr. Market Research Analyst at Knowles Electronics, as well as Technical Training Manager and Electronics Technician at Hammond Organ Company.

John holds both a PhD and master's degree in Economics, a master's degree in Organizational Development and a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. He has received extensive training in electronics technology from the U.S. Naval Air Reserves and Cleveland Institute of Electronics. He is a certified Professional Project Manager (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as well as CompTIA Project+ certified. John has taught graduate level courses in project management, decision making, quantitative methods, marketing and product development. Over the years John has delivered on-site project management training and PMP preparation workshops to an estimated 2500+ project managers.

When John is not performing contract project management, he spends time developing software tools, training methodologies as well writing on the subject of project management. His methods are multidisciplinary and go beyond the standard PMI PMBOK approach. John's perspective on project management draws upon the ideas of economists, philosophers, social psychologists, historians and military strategists.
